On April 1, 2014, an Amber Alert went out from Albuquerque, NM, in an attempt to locate Lacey Dewent a 14 year old juvenile, who went missing March 31, 2014. Law Enforcement immediately identified 26 year old Robert Butler from Florida as a person of interest in Dewent’s disappearance. Butler had met and been contacting Dewent online. On April 1, 2014, the initial investigation determined that Butler had taken Dewent out of state. The Albuquerque Police Department and the United States Marshals Service began working jointly in locating Dewent and Butler.
April 15, 2014 - The U.S. Marshals Service for the Southern District of Texas, announces the Investiture Ceremony of newly appointed Marshal Gary Blankinship, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Texas. The investiture will be held on Thursday April 17, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will be at The Historical 1910 Courthouse, 301 Fannin St, Houston, TX 77002.
April 15, 2014 - United States Marshal Steve Frank announces the arrest of Pittsburgh homicide suspect Theodore Smedley earlier this morning. Detectives with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police teamed up with the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force leading to the arrest of Smedley at a residence in Wilkinsburg, PA.
April 14, 2014 - Bobby Duane Bates was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service on Friday, April 11, 2014. Bates was sentenced on November 4, 2010 to serve a thirty (30) month federal prison sentence followed by three (3) years of supervised release for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
April 14, 2014 - The U.S. Marshals Service, Eastern District of North Carolina, and the Rocky Mount Police Department announce the successful conclusion of Operation Cerberus. Law enforcement officers from numerous agencies fanned out across the city of Rocky Mount and the surrounding areas of Nash and Edgecombe Counties over recent weeks, with the goal of locating and apprehending subjects wanted for a variety of offenses. By end of the operation, 404 subjects had been arrested and 634 warrants had been served.
April 10, 2014 - Akim Tyrell Smith and James Elliott Murphy were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force and the Greensboro Police Department. Smith was wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base, and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime. Murphy was wanted by the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court for strangulation of his girlfriend.
April 09, 2014 - U.S. Marshal Edwin Sloane announces the completion of a district warrant sweep. The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) - District of Columbia, along with the assistance of the USMS Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and USMS Investigative Operations Division, Criminal Investigations Branch conducted a four day warrant sweep entitled “Operation Spring Forward”.
April 07, 2014 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe announces the arrest of Samir Azizi by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force at San Francisco International Airport. Azizi is wanted in Germany for several financial crimes – 89 counts related to tax evasion – committed between 2008 and 2012.
April 04, 2014 - Joe Martinez III was arrested this afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department, where it is alleged that Martinez committed 1st Degree Murder.
April 04, 2014 - U.S. Marshal David Cargill, Jr. and Manchester Police Chief David Mara have created an alliance with a full-time commitment to the U.S. Marshals –New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force. This commitment has been in existence since the inception of the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002 on a part-time basis, but in an effort to arrest wanted fugitives in the Queen City, a Manchester detective has been assigned to the task force on a full-time basis.
April 04, 2014 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Dashonti Baker at a home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Baker was indicted yesterday by the Mahoning County Grand Jury and charged with Attempted Murder and two counts of Felonious Assault.
The U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force apprehended homicide suspect Darryl Reaves at approximately 2:40 pm this afternoon. Reaves, age 35, was charged by the Allegheny County Police Department on April 11, 2013 with Criminal Homicide, Criminal Attempt-Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering another Person and Persons not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control a Firearm following an investigation into the shooting death of Tyrone Milton. Milton was struck and killed by an errant bullet during a fight at a Rankin bar in the early morning hours of April 6, 2013.
Greensboro, NC – This afternoon at 12:30 PM, Mitchell Jerome Mack, a 37 year old, Black Male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF). Mack was wanted by the Greensboro Police Department for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by Felon. These charges stemmed from an armed robbery on November 29, 2013 at the Pop Shoppe gas station located at 1710 Stanley Road.
Concord, NH – At approximately noon today, this week’s Fugitive of the Week, David Sawell Carey, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Pembroke Police Department in Pembroke. David Carey, 41, who was last known to live in Manchester, NH, was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for violations of his state parole, stemming from his original conviction for being a habitual offender. Although this is not a major case, Carey’s serious criminal history warranted the attention of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
April 02, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia, Robert W. Mathieson, announces the capture of Monte Robinson. Robinson was wanted out of the city of Suffolk for Homicide and other gun charges related to the murder.
April 02, 2014 - On March 31, 2014, the U.S. Marshals Service’s South West Investigative Fugitive Team fugitive task force arrested Maria Cathy Tercero on a warrant charging her with Attempted Homicide.
April 01, 2014 - Luis Murillo Rapalo was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in Hollywood, FL. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department, where it is alleged that Rapalo committed 3 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
April 01, 2014 - U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced today that the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Aman Ziadeh in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. United States Marshal Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service takes a very active, aggressive approach in locating and arresting fugitives charged with serious felony offenses such as sex crimes against children."
March 31, 2014 - Fugitive of the Week, Antonio Clough was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of Manchester Police Department. Clough was wanted on an outstanding federal arrest warrant for Violations of Supervised Release, which was part of his sentence for an earlier conviction for cocaine sales.
March 28, 2014 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested Pittsburgh Police Homicide suspect Jamirre Wilkes, along with two other individuals, at a residence in New Kensington, PA.
